The new OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G was released a few months ago in South Africa, which includes innovative AI tools tailored to improve productivity and inspire creativity for users.

The Reno12 Series, made up of the Reno12 Pro 5G, Reno12 FS 5G and Reno12 F is a major step forward in Oppo’s dedication to making AI-powered phones accessible to all.

The Reno12 Pro 5G is powered by the new 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset with a whopping 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage to deliver exceptional power efficiency.

It packs in a 5000mAh battery, and included in the box is OPPO’s proprietary 80W SuperVOOC flash-charging plug and cable that ensures the phone gets to 100% in a mere 46 minutes. If the phone is completely dead, a quick 10-minute charge will take it to 32%.

The flagship Reno12 Pro features a futuristic fluid design with a high-strength alloy framework, offering style and robust protection against drops, pressure, and water. And more importantly, sets a higher benchmark for smartphone photography standards.

Liam Furie, head of go-to-market and operations at OPPO South Africa says everyone deserves AI. “The Reno12 Pro, with its cutting-edge GenAI features and innovative design, is likely to be the first AI phone for many South Africans.”

“We are democratising access to advanced technology by offering the best-in-market features at an unbeatable price. The Reno12 Pro sets a new standard in smartphone excellence, ensuring that top-tier AI capabilities are accessible to all.”

The new chipset is co-developed by OPPO and MediaTek to ensure outstanding power efficiency and performance, thanks to its octa-core design and innovative system-on-chip (SoC), memory and storage enhancements through the latest ColorOS Trinity Engine.

Leveraging AI models to recognize user scenarios, the Trinity Engine’s enhanced CPU-Vita system intelligently manages resources, reducing power consumption while preserving system stability and performance. This ensures the phone operates efficiently, adapting to usage patterns without draining the battery.

The best part about the phone is that it packs in a 50MP telephoto portrait camera and a 50MP selfie camera, which takes it to the next level. Whether you’re a content creator or want the best AI camera, you cannot miss out on the Reno12 Pro.

The 50MP main camera uses a Sony LYT-600 sensor with omnidirectional autofocus and optical image stabilisation (OIS) to ensure quick clear, focused shots. It features a 50MP telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.

The portrait lens has a 2x zoom capabilities with professional portraits and a beautiful background blur.

The phone has an AI Portrait Retouching feature that will let you make real-time adjustments for the perfect selfie, while the AI Eraser removes unwanted elements from photos with a simple tap.

Think about it, you’re on holiday and want to take the perfect shot at the busiest tourist attraction – AI Eraser will remove anyone or anything in the background that you don’t want, for the perfect shot in a single take.

It features an enhanced Flash Snapshot feature to automatically adjust the camera settings for more natural lighting and skin tones.

You can also record 4K videos at 30fps on both the front and rear cameras for stunning high-definition videos.
