Martha Van Zyl

In primary school, her Afrikaans teacher told her she’d never be a writer if her handwriting didn’t improve. Not only is her handwriting – print and cursive – perfectly legible these days, but Martha’s been making a career from writing in one form or another for over two decades.

It’s also about how long she’s been watching fast cars go zoom. She has written content for Mitsubishi South Africa, Subaru South Africa, and JAC Motors South Africa. She also writes about lifestyle topics like books, food, beauty, and fashion.

Martha likes to knit and do sudoku while listening to audiobooks in her free time. She enjoys pop culture, true crime, and Formula 1 podcasts.

Nafisa Akabor

Owner and editor of Recharged, Nafisa draws from her 19 year career as a technology journalist.

She was introduced to technology in the 80s and by the late 90s, doubled up as family tech support along with her first encounter with dial-up internet.

She’s been playing around on these internet streets before Google was born; it’s no surprise she ended up becoming a tech journalist.

Nafisa started dabbling with EV articles back in 2017 and hasn’t looked back.
