Naked has shared that customers have helped send R2.3-million to 13 causes across South Africa. It is now an annual tradition for the company, and the total donated over the years is sitting at R6.6 million.

All Naked customers have played a part in making this happen through every premium paid and cause chosen from the app.
WHAT IS THE NAKED DIFFERENCE?
The Naked Difference is built around a simple idea. Naked keeps the money it uses to run the business separate from the pool of money used to pay claims. The company takes a flat fee for providing the insurance, regardless of how many claims it has to pay.
That means your valid claim isn’t competing with Naked’s income. If something goes wrong, the aim is the same for both sides: get the claim sorted fairly and efficiently.

And when there’s money left in the claims pool at the end of the year, it doesn’t just become additional profit for Naked. It goes towards causes selected by Naked customers.
This year’s recipients include organisations such as Oscars Arc, the Kolisi Foundation, Greenpop and Good Morning Angels, among others doing work across South Africa.
There’s no additional donation to make and no fundraising campaign you need to sign up for.
WHERE DOES YOUR PREMIUM GO?
The model can be broken down into three steps:
- You pay your premium.
- Naked takes a flat fee to run the business, while the remainder goes into a shared pool to cover valid claims and related costs.
- If there’s money left in that pool at the end of the year, it is distributed to causes chosen by Naked customers rather than becoming extra profit for Naked.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR CAUSE?
If you’re a Naked customer and haven’t selected a cause yet, it takes just a few taps:
- Open the Naked app.
- Tap 👤in the bottom-right corner.
- Choose the cause you’d like to support.
There’s no additional cost involved. Your choice simply helps determine where the next Naked Difference payout goes.
