Fitbit has unveiled a new fitness and wellness tracker called the Luxe for those who want their trackers to look like a piece of jewellery. It is designed to help wearers take a ‘wholistic approach to health and wellness’ by offering motivation and support to stay healthy with stress management tool, automatic activity and sleep tracking.
The Luxe bracelet tracker has an OLED colour touchscreen with up to five days battery life and is versatile for both day and night wear, which can be paired with a range of new accessories, including luxury bracelets from gorjana.
Similar to the Fitbit Sense released last year as a result of the pandemic, Luxe will provide insights to your wellbeing via the Health Metrics dashboard on the Fitbit app that will help you identify changes like increased stress or fatigue, the company says. It also comes with a 6-month trial to Fitbit Premium.
Fitbit cofounder, VP and GM James Park says over the past year they’ve had to think differently about health and wellness from keeping an eye out for possible Covid-19 symptoms to managing the ongoing stress and anxiety of today’s world.
That’s why we’ve doubled down on our efforts to introduce innovative tools and insights to support you in staying mentally well and physically active. We’ve made major technological advancements with Luxe, creating a smaller, slimmer, beautifully designed tracker packed with these advanced features – some that were previously only available with our smartwatches – and providing access to these tools to even more people around the globe.
Other tools that Luxe gives you insights into include breathing rate, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate (RHR) and coming soon: skin temperature reading and and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2).
You can also track your sleep and get access to your sleep score, 24/7 heart-rate tracking which subsequently track workouts with Active Zone Minutes, and connected GPS via your smartphone.
Apart from standard fitness and well-being, users can log food, hydration and weight, and make use of menstrual health tracking. It also has a newly added blood glucose logging feature.
The Fitbit Lux gojana range transforms the tracker into a piece of jewellery through a Parker Link bracelet in gold stainless steel alongside a swim-proof (water resistant to 50M) classic silicone peony brand for two looks in one. Other bands include classic silicone, leather double wrap, woven and stainless steel mesh bands. The gorjana Parker link bracelet also comes in platinum.
Fitbit Luxe – R3399
Fitbit Luxe Special Edition – R4399 (2 bands: gojana bracelet + silicone peony band)
Luxe accessories – R499 upwards
Fitbit SA says it will be available this winter.
