FlySafair is giving away two cars to customers who book flights during June and July as part of its Win a Car campaign. It will run in partnership with Suzuki, which will see two customers walk away with a Grand Vitara Hybrid AllGrips valued at R530 000 each.

The entry mechanism is simple, customers need to book flights on FlySafair to any of their nine destinations between 1 June and 31 July 2023. To qualify into the draw, customers need to be over 18 years old, and have a valid South African passport or permanent residency; Ts&Cs can be found on the FlySafair website.

Wired to the Web attended the launch event for the competition in George between 1-2 June. I’ve not reviewed Suzuki’s on the blog before so it was my first encounter with the brand and its team.

The Suzuki Grand Vitara AllGrip Hybrid

Suzuki is a well-loved brand by South Africans and is known to offer value for money vehicles. The entry-level Grand Vitara starts at R339 900 but the model up for grabs is the one we drove: its first ever hybrid model. The AllGrip Hybrid costs R529 900 and I was impressed by the drive around George with it, especially in off-road conditions with its 76kW output and 137Nm of torque.

As its “AllGrip” name suggests, it has various driving modes including sport, snow and auto. It’s easy to choose, you don’t have to think about the drive, the car is optimised for your terrain. I drove a lot in the train and off-road, it was muddy but the grip was excellent.

I liked the 7″ touchscreen with Apple CarPlay support though it didn’t have built-in navigation. We used our connected phones to access Google Maps for the drive.

Both FlySafair and Suzuki planned a fun day for us, getting to see what George has to offer. It says about the partnership with Suzuki: “FlySafair has always had the spirit of adventure coursing through its veins. With a long history of exploring new frontiers and pushing boundaries, it is only fitting that we team up with a brand that shares our same adventurous outlook and trend-setting vision. By working together, the brands are taking South Africa from Skyways to Highways, making your life one big adventure.”

In addition to the two main car prizes, there will be other smaller prizes. FlySafair says throughout the campaign period it will be running mini competitions alongside it to give consumers the chance to have their very own all expenses paid adventure. “We can’t give away too much just yet, but we will be combining our strengths to send some lucky flyers on all expenses paid trips to some of the best destinations South Africa has to offer,” says the airline.

Be sure to book any upcoming holidays with FlySafair to qualify for these amazing prizes!
