Samsung is bringing the new Galaxy A27 to South Africa on 1 July through mobile operators and Samsung stores.

The Galaxy A Series is one of the most popular devices in the country, which stands out for offering customers value for money.
The Galaxy A27 5G will be available next week, starting at R6 999, and will be available to purchase on Samsung SA online from 10 July.
Samsung A27 Specs
Available in black and light green, the A27 will feature a large 6.7-inch Infinity-O 120Hz display with a minimal punch hole design for the front camera. Samsung says the design allows for a reduced and balanced bezel that adds more screen space and reduces distractions.
The A27 has a 7.8mm thin body and is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 octa-core chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage of up to 2TB via microSD. Its 2.4GHz octa-core chipset allows for GPU performance boost to handle multi-tasking, gaming, and streaming.

The A27 also features a 12MP selfie-camera and a triple rear camera set-up: 50MP OIS camera, 5MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro. It offers 10x digital zoom on the rear, while it records in 4K UHD (3840×2160) at 30 frames per second and slow motion at 240fps on HD.
It has a 5000mAh battery that promises 23 hours of video playback, and with an its fast-charging plug, gets you to 45% in just 30 minutes. It also supports 25W wireless charging.
Durability comes in the form of an IP64 rating for water resistance and dirt, while the frame is made from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for scratch resistance.
AI and OS Updates
The A27 comes with a bunch of Samsung’s Awesome Intelligence features, such as Circle to Search with multi-object recognition, Object Eraser to remove unwanted distractions from photos and Voice Transcription that translates and transcribes in 22 languages.
It also offers a choice of AI assistances like Google Gemini or Perplexity. There’s also deeper integration across native apps including Gallery, while Bixby is a conversational device agent that lets users control settings and features.
The A27 will run Android 16 and Samsung’s One UI8.5, with a promise of 6 years of operating system upgrades and security updates from its initial global launch date. Security comes in the form of Samsung Knox that keeps data secure.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A27 will be available at all Samsung stores, network operators and retailers starting from 1 July at R6 999, while Samsung online will have it on 10 July.
Vodacom currently has the A27 listed for R5 999.
