I’m big on tech accessories as most of you know. I buy way too many phone covers, laptop cases and smartwatch straps because I want to protect my tech but also want variety. I love that accessories allow you to stand out from the crowd and show your individuality.
Last month I received a delivery from Mujjo, a tech accessories company based in the Netherlands. Mujjo started off first by making winter gloves for touchscreens and in 2012, and expanded to other products for phones and laptops; such as leather cases for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy, iPads, touchscreen gloves, and sleeves for the Macbook.
The company sent me a black sleeve for my 13″ Macbook, such perfect timing as I had just received my new laptop; and a tan iPhone 11 Pro wallet case.
13″ Macbook Sleeve
This laptop sleeve looks very different to your regular zipped up sleeve. I love the design and contrast of textures. It’s a felt sleeve with a vegetable-tanned leather flap. It’s minimal on the one side, but the flap has the Mujjo branding pressed in, and a stud on the right to close it.
It’s sort of like a folio as well, with another compartment to keep papers, and a slot on the inside main section for a bank card or business card. It gives off a very industrial kind of look, which I’m a fan of. I also like the dark colour for this design; it matches my grey laptop.
The laptop fits nicely with some space around it. Typically for a more snug case, I would prefer the zip going around the edge of the laptop without it moving around inside, but this particular design isn’t meant to be snug because it has slots for other stuff.
I used this case for meetings and working from coffee shops (before lockdown) but popped it into a bigger handbag. As nice as it looks with its carry-under-the-arm vibe, I do not prefer using it that way. I wanted to protect it further and not catch unnecessary dust. The dark colour also means continuous opening and closing will disguise any finger marks.
iPhone 11 Pro wallet case
The iPhone 11 Pro leather wallet case is slim in design with no unnecessary bulk to the phone, and can hold up to three cards on the back pocket. It sits 1mm above your screen on the front for added screen protection when you drop the phone.
The tan colour looks good and the unique patina makes the texture of each case look different. Tan leather gets better with use and I’ve been liking the worn look since I’ve been using it. I just wipe it down every now and then; also especially during the time of corona.
The recommendation for the card slot is up to three cards but I’ve only put one because I don’t want to struggle to pull them out when I need it, which stretches it and then I’d have to always carry three cards. I toggle between my gym and bank card in the slot.
The Mujjo range of accessories are of good quality and design, and I’m a fan. My phone case looks a bit “dressy” in the tan case; and I like the texture.
The Macbook 13″ sleeve (Air/Pro) is priced at €69.90 and be found here.
The iPhone 11 Pro wallet case is priced at €49.90 and can found here.
When the global lockdown is over and shipping gets back to normal, I recommend considering getting some of their products. They ship to South Africa and orders above €60 are free; I tracked it via the Post Office once it got here.
Mujjo also recently announced a slate green phone case for iPhone 11 Pro, which I’m eyeing.
