Samsung has announced that Circle to Search with Google will come to select Galaxy A Series devices. Supported devices include the Galaxy A55, A54, A35, and A34, with rollout taking place in August.
The new mobile AI feature was introduced earlier this year on the flagship S24 Series where users can search for anything directly on their screen without switching apps or taking screenshots like before. Users simply long press the home button, circle what’s on their screen, even a paused video, to search for more information.
According to Samsung, it has since become a fan favourite feature that transforms the experience of discovery beyond the traditional search methods.
Circle to Search also became available on the Galaxy Z Series in July, including the Flip 6 and Fold 6, which incudes full-page translation, homework help, and the scanning of QR and barcodes.
Samsung president and head of mobile experience business, TM Roh, says these updates unlock new possibilities for the Galaxy A series and reinforces its commitment to providing cutting-edge technology for more Galaxy users.
“We are dedicated to bringing best-in-class AI technology to a broader audience, empowering users with the option to work more efficiently, create more freely, and enjoy richer, more personalised interactions with their devices,” said Roh.
When Circle to Search is enabled, users can simply circle, highlight or tap anywhere on the screen to select the text, image or video they want to search. Circle to Search is a Google feature, and will also roll out to other supported Android handsets. “With AI-powered results offering rich information and context, Circle to Search elevates the search experience to a new level of ease and excitement.”
Circle to Search requires an internet connection, and users need to update to the latest version of Android. Some functions may not be compatible with certain apps. Availability depends on country and language.
