First Look: Honor 600 Pro

The Honor 600 Pro has arrived, and Recharged had an opportunity to spend a bit of time with it ahead of the launch.

Interesting to note this year, is that both models in Honor’s popular number series, the Honor 600 and 600 Pro, share the same design language, display size, battery capacity and many of the same headline camera and AI features, while the Pro adds extra power and flexibility for users who want even more from their device.

The Honor 600 Pro is positioned at as a premium all-rounder that combines style, performance and creativity. It has come a long way from the previous-gen models, thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

If you’re a traveller, good to know upfront both devices support eSIM functionality and NFC for Tap to Pay for your bank cards.

The article will focus on a first look at the Honor 600 Pro mainly.

Honor 600 Pro Premium design

Honor has given the 600 series a sleek, unified look that feels polished. It features a metal unibody design with smooth textures, minimal seams and a matte finish that helps keep fingerprints at bay, all of which contribute to a more premium in-hand feel. We quite like the final result and the fact that you don’t have to keep wiping down fingerprints left on it.

The 600 Pro model has a key visual differentiator, the addition of a telephoto lens, while it has a slim-bezel aesthetic that makes it look immersive.

There is a strong emphasis on durability as it offers IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance, alongside five-star SGS certification for drop and crush resistance, underlining a push to pair premium styling with reassuring toughness.

Display and power

The 600 Pro has a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, with features like a flat panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 8000 nits peak brightness. But for those who are not interested in such technical detail, just know that it is designed to deliver a vivid, comfortable viewing experience across everything from your social content to streaming and gaming.

We’ve been watching videos outdoors in direct sunlight at maximum screen brightness and the display still delivers vivid colours without putting a strain on the eye.

The Honor 600 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, when compared to the 600 that features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, giving consumers the option of choosing either top-tier power or strong everyday performance within the same family.

Honor also highlighted advanced cooling through a large vapor chamber system, with the Pro model aimed at higher frame rate gaming and more demanding mobile tasks. No matter your task, the 600 Pro is up for it.

Camera and AI

Both devices feature a 200MP main camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera that also supports macro photography, and a colour temperature sensor for truer colour reproduction. Both also have a 50MP selfie camera capable of 4K video, while the Pro adds a 50MP telephoto camera for extended zoom versatility.

Honor 600 Pro: Macro shot

If there’s one thing the camera has proved it shines at is low-light photography. These pictures were taken in the dark and show a lot of detail that you normally won’t see with the naked eye. And while we can see the benefits of this in specific scenarios, the AI features can also be turned off if you prefer to shoot without it.

Honor’s AI imaging tools add another layer to the experience. Features such as AI Super Zoom 2.0, AI Supermoon 2.0 and the updated image-to-video tool are designed to make smartphone photography and content creation more dynamic, more intuitive and more shareable.

The new image-to-video experience now supports up to three images, five-second clips, prompts, sound and a wider range of templates, making it one of the more creative highlights of the new series.

Additional editing tools, including AI photo expansion, AI moving photo eraser and collage-style effects, continue that theme of putting more creative control directly into the phone. Rather than relying on third-party apps, users are able to access a suite of features that feel built for modern social storytelling and everyday convenience.

Battery and ecosystem

Battery performance is another major talking point for the 600 series. Both models feature a 7000mAh battery, enabled by Honor’s third-generation silicon-carbon battery technology, and both support 80W wired charging for fast top-ups when needed.

The Pro model extends that convenience further with 50W wireless charging. Honor also noted reverse wired charging support, along with broader cross-platform sharing features such as Honor Share for iOS devices, NFC one-tap sharing and Mac connectivity, helping position the 600 series as a more flexible companion across different ecosystems.

I’ve not had issues with battery life on any Honor device previously and the same can be said for the 600 Pro. The battery just lasts, and a recharge is quick. Of course, when needed, you can use battery saving mode.

The device runs Honor Magic 10 based on Android 16 and comes with preloaded apps. Honor says it supports 5 years of operating system updates.

Final thoughts

The Honor 600 Pro should be seen as the premium device that it is being positioned as, considering the emphasis that went into the design, camera innovations, battery endurance and AI-driven creativity. The device makes a strong statement in the upper-tier smartphone space.

For users looking for a smartphone that blends style with substance, the Honor 600 series looks set to offer plenty of appeal. The Honor 600 Pro, in particular, adds extra performance and camera flexibility, while the standard Honor 600 still carries many of the same standout features that define the range.
