Volvo cars will roll out Apple Music to more than two million of its vehicles through an over-the-air software update.

The Swedish brand also says its new Volvo EX60 will come with Apple Music preloaded when customers start receiving their vehicles later this year.
Volvo will offer customers who are eligible up to three months of Apple Music free to try on their vehicles. This includes new and returning users, valid until 6 July 2027.
For those who own a Volvo EX60, EX90 and ES90 will get Apple Music with Spatial Audio, powered by Dolby Atmos and brought to life on its optional Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system, said the company.
It says these models are quieter than any other Volvo models before them due to state of the art soundproofing and the most advanced in-car audio systems it has developed.
Existing Apple Music customers can simply sign in with their credentials to access over 100 million songs, ad-free, with access to playlists and live radio, accessible through voice or touchscreen.
Alwin Bakkenes, head of global software engineering at Volvo Cars says many customers use Apple Music on their phones or in their homes today.
“By bringing Apple Music directly into our cars, we’re making them an extraordinary place to experience music. You’ll feel as if you’re right in the middle of a concert hall or an arena during your favourite live performance or immersed in the latest music in Spatial Audio exactly as the artist intended – a truly emotional listening experience.”
The software update will roll out to the following models from the year 2020 onwards: Volvo EX90, ES90, XC90, S90, V90, XC60, S60, V60, XC40, EX40 and EC40.
