Vivo and Tecno are two Chinese smartphone manufacturers who have entered the South African market in December and March, respectively. It’s significant because both are bringing low-cost affordable handsets for the mass market and unlike Huawei, both have Google Mobile Services.
This means the Google suite of apps will be preloaded on these handsets, such as Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, Google Maps, and access to the Play Store for the widest selection of apps on Android.
I have these affordable handsets for review from each manufacturer, the Vivo Y11 and Tecno Camon 12, so I though I’d do a spec comparison for your reference if you’re not sure which one to buy. I also published a review of the Camon 12 here.

The Vivo Y11 is R300 cheaper but it has less RAM and storage, dual camera, bigger battery and dual-SIM support. If the RAM, storage and better camera mean more to you, it will be worth the extra R300 for the Camon 12, but it also has a smaller battery. That said both will last you a day. It will come down to budget or dual-SIM functionality.
