The Asus ROG Ally was launched in South Africa recently and will cost R15 999. It is a direct competitor to Valve’s Steam Deck, which is available as a “grey” product or parallel import starting at R16 999 for the 64GB version. There’s a 256GB version for R21 499 and a 512GB version for R24 699.
If you’re in the market for either of these devices from South Africa, here’s how they compare.
Quick summary
The ROG Ally being a newer device is more powerful, has better specs and is lighter, if this means anything to you. It is well-priced when compared to the Steam Deck if you’re based in SA and considering buying either from here. The ROG Ally also comes with three months free access of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
