Uber South Africa is changing the game with its new Uber Eats Live offering that will deliver food straight to your stadium seat.

The new offering allows fans to order food or drinks from their seats at major venues offering live entertainment.
The Uber Eats Live service was piloted at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria during a recent Basketball Africa League match.
Fans had to simply open the Uber Eats app, select the venue, browse from a curated menu of on-site vendors, and received their meals directly at their seats.
Cassie Jaganyi, Head of Communications, Uber Sub-Saharan Africa says its introducing a product that meets South Africans exactly where they are at – at the heart of culture, community, and celebration.
Uber says the new offering builds on a strong foundation it has already established in South Africa, citing its 2023 Economic Impact Report where it supported over 40 000 earners and contributed R17 billion to the local economy in one year.
Uber says its Uber Eats Live service will evolve with the local entertainment landscape, from music festival and sports matches, to local markets and pop-up events.
Following the success of the SunBet Arena pilot, Uber Eats plans to roll out the feature at more venues across the country, it says.
And when the lights go down, Uber Eats SA says its After Dark service will keep fans going with its late-night delivery options until midnight.
“Uber Eats Live is more than a new feature, it’s a signal of intent,” says the company. “It’s about reimagining what’s possible when technology, hospitality, and entertainment converge.”
