Oppo South Africa has unveiled its new Reno15 series at a media event at Gallery Momo in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 28 January. This comes five months after the Reno14 landed in SA.

The new range is made up of a base level 6.57-inch Reno15 F and a high-end 6.32-inch Reno15 Pro, which will become available nationwide on 7 February.
Oppo South Africa CEO Jace Chen says that South Africa is an important market for the company, and the Reno Series has built a loyal following here because “it delivers the experiences people care about most”.
“With Reno15, we’re pushing design, imaging and performance forward, while remaining disciplined on pricing in a challenging global market,” says Chen.
Both AI-powered devices offer 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, 80W fast-charging and 5G connectivity.
The Reno15 Pro however runs a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, has a 6200mAh battery, eSIM support and a 200MP camera and 2x 50MP lenses, one telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, while the Reno15 F is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, a larger 7000mAh battery, and a 50MP main shooter.
Both handsets support 50MP selfie-cameras with 4K video and underwater photography. AI-powered features include AI Portrait Glow, AI Motion Photo, AI Eraser 2.0, plus built-in video editing tools. Both also have an IP69-rating for durability to enable underwater photography.
According to StatsCounter, Oppo held an 8.96% market share in South Africa in June 2025, which fell to 5.3% by December 2025. The drop could be linked to the higher cost of devices powered by AI, which require more demanding hardware.
Oppo Reno15 Series Pricing and availability
The Reno15 Series will hit stores on 7 February, from Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C.
