There are many reasons to buy the Honor 400 Pro, as highlighted in our previous article. The device is currently available at retailers and mobile network provides, and retails for R17 999.

Today we’re focusing on the number one reason people choose smartphones: the camera.
Fred Zhou, CEO of Honor South Africa says with the Honor 400 Pro, they’re not just improving smartphone photography, they’re closing the gap between capture and creation.
“This is a mobile studio powered by AI, tailored for a generation that shoots, edits, and publishes on the same device,” says Zhou.
The rear camera setup is made up of a 200MP AI main camera with a 1/1.4-inch OIS sensor; a 12MP 112-degree ultra-wide camera; and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The selfie-camera is a 50MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
Honor 400 Pro Cameras: Packed with AI
The Honor 400 Pro has a ‘world first’ AI Camera Button, an Android exclusive. It is also the first smartphone with Google’s Veo2 image-to-video integrated onto the device. This feature allows users to turn a still image into a five second video clip, but the result is completely random, as determined by AI.
It features AI Super Zoom that lets users capture details from a distance, like building façades and signage to distant landscapes, without sacrificing sharpness or introducing significant digital noise.
It features a 100x digital zoom, which is refined through cloud-based processing that requires an internet connection. It uses intelligent stabilisation, and AI-powered sharpening, de-noising and exposure balancing.

Another feature worth checking out is HD Moving Photo that lets you choose your ideal cover photo by stitching together photos, which preserves 3 seconds of footage when the image is being captured. So if you capture a fast moving action shot, you can find the right moment after.
Users can benefit from self-editing tools that can stitch together videos to come up with creative results using AI, no editing skills required for those who are new to the space.
A cool feature that users can play around with is AI Upscale, a powerful tool to bring old photos with low resolution to life through crisp, detailed images. In one tap, it analyses the image and boosts the resolution for more vibrant results that preserve the original moment.
Another trending feature is Honor’s built-in AI Eraser that help remove unwanted objects and people from photos. It eliminates the need to use a third party app and can be done directly within the Gallery.
The AI is context-aware, and preserves image texture, lighting and surrounding colour tones. The tool does not need an internet connection as it operates locally with results within seconds.
For those who love taking selfies, the AI Enhanced Portrait Mode takes things a notch up. It uses real-time bokeh depth correction, skin tone calibration and natural texture retention when creating portraits. There are built-in presets including Neo Glam, Cinematic Glow and Editorial Matte.
The result is portraits being rendered with DSLR-like precision, thanks to an AI system trained on a wide dataset of human features, lighting scenarios, and artistic styles.
Honor 400 Pro Specs
All of these AI features on the camera are powered by the Honor 400 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core processor with an Adreno 750 GPU, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It has dual SIM support with eSIM and 5G connectivity, infrared remote control support, and NFC for contactless payments.
The triple rear camera and selfie-camera supports 4K videos for to capture every detail in the highest resolution.
