Honor 400 Pro and 400 with AI lands in SA

Honor South Africa launched its new mid-range volume seller smartphones, the Honor 400 Pro and 400 to the local market at a glitzy event at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg.

In attendance was Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, who was among the first to test the device, alongside developers and creators, said the Chinese smartphone maker.

The new Honor 400 Pro and 400 are the first smartphones in South Africa to debut Google’s new Veo2 AI Image to Video model, which lets users turn a still image into a short video of a few seconds.

The Honor 400 Pro features a 50MP telephoto zoom lens that uses AI to sharpen distant details without the bulky lens, says Honor. Both devices also feature AI Deepfake Detection which detects if the caller is using deepfake technology in a video call.

The Honor 400 Pro and Honor 400 is now available at Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C.

Honor 400 Pro and 400 Launch Offer

Customers who purchase the Honor 400 Pro and 400 from June until 6 August 2025 will get three gifts thrown in, worth R8 000. It includes the Honor 2i Watch; Honor Choice Earbuds X7  Lite; and the Honor Choice Powerbank 10 000mAh capacity.

It also comes with a 36 month battery health protection and 365 days Display Warranty. According to Honor, the gifts are available to all and are not limited by numbers/stock.

Honor X6c and Pad X7 WiFi

Honor also teased a new smartphone arriving next month, the Honor X6c that features a 50MP camera; AI Eraser; AI Button with One Click Access, a 5300mAh battery; 35W Turbo Charging; with a free charger and case in the box for R2 999.

The Honor Pad X7 WiFi only model is a 8.7-inch tablet with 90Hz display; 4GB + 128GB; and 7020mAh battery with free cover in the box for R1 999. The tablet will be available from 1 August 2025.
