Discovery offers UK visa service in Johannesburg

Discovery has announced a new exclusive UK visa service for its clients, located at the Discovery Store at 1 Discovery Place in Sandton.

The company says the UK remains the most popular destination for Vitality Travellers with over 16 000 members purchasing discounted flights on its platform in 2025.

The UK visa application centre at Discovery HQ is in partnership with VFS Global, who already has a UK visa application centre in Rivonia, Johannesburg.

Discovery Bank CEO Hylton Kallner says the partnership is another step in realising their vision of making banking and travel seamless.

“The Discovery Store, a physical representation of the Discovery brand, is already a one-stop destination where clients can apply for an ID or passport, complete health assessments and manage their financial needs,” says Kallner.

“Now, by integrating a dedicated UK visa application centre right here, we are creating a truly integrated and convenient hub for our clients. It’s about bringing essential services together in one place, saving them time and simplifying their journey,” he says.

Exclusive Access for All Discovery Bank Clients

• Dedicated Facility: Clients have exclusive access to a private visa application centre located at 1 Discovery Place in Sandton.
• Streamlined Process: The centre offers an appointment-only, bespoke environment designed for shorter wait times for document submission and biometric enrollment.
• Eligibility: This service is available to all Discovery Bank clients who book through the Vitality Travel platform.

Premium “At-Home” Service for Purple Suite Clients

• On-Demand Mobile Visa (ODMV): Purple Suite clients can have their visa processed at their home or office via a discounted mobile service.
• Coverage: Available in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria.
• Concierge Support: Dedicated Purple Travel Consultants assist with scheduling, while VFS Global handles biometrics and passport collection on-site.

How to Book

1. Start Online: Complete the UK visa application at gov.uk to receive a reference number.
2. Access Vitality Travel: Log in to the booking platform via a desktop or laptop.
3. Schedule: Select “New Visa Support Appointment” and fill in the details to secure a slot at the Sandton facility.
