The Honor 400 Series was released in South Africa a few months ago, with a strong focus on AI features. There are two models on offer, the Honor 400 base model that retails for R12 999, and the Honor 400 Pro, which retails for R17 999.

1. DESIGN
The Honor 400 Pro is precision-engineered for impact, featuring a multi-angle layout in a sleek body. It is just 8.1mm thin and weighs 205g. Its full dimensions are 160.8 x 76.1 x 8.1mm. It comes in two shades, midnight black and lunar grey. It is also water- and dust-resistance and carries an IP68 and IP69 rating.
2. DISPLAY
The Honor 400 Pro has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. It is also has an ultra-bright display of 5000nits of peak brightness. The resolution on the display is 2800×1280 with 460 pixels per inch (PPI).
It has Honor’s AI Super-Dynamic Display and AI Vivid technologies, plus a Netflix HDR and Amazon HDR certification, which makes it perfect for watching TV series and movies on the go.
And when you’re outdoors or on the beach, its Sunlight Display Enhancement kicks in, making it easier on the eyes. Like its previous models, it also has an AI Eye Comfort Display, which adjusts in low-light conditions to minimise visual fatigue.
3. CAMERA
Undoubtedly, the key feature on the Honor 400 Pro is its trio of lenses on the rear. It packs in a 200MP AI camera, 12MP Ultra Wide camera, and a 50MP Telephoto Camera. It is complemented by a 50MP selfie-camera. Videos are shot in 4K (3840×2160 pixels) on both the front and rear cameras.

4. HONOR 400 PRO AI FEATURES
As mentioned, the Honor 400 Pro is packed with AI features, with Google Gemini as your AI Assistant. It also features Google’s popular AI tools like Google Lens and Circle to Search.
But what’s cool about the Honor 400 Pro is that is offers an AI Camera Button and Veo 2 Video-to-Image integration. Other features include Honor’s AI Deep Fake Detection on video calls, Magic Portal for ease of access between apps, Live Translation for phone calls, and AI Writing Tools for composing emails or messages.
It also features AI Upscale, to enhance the quality of older or low-res photos. Simply go into your gallery and select the photo, choose access AI Edit, activate AI Upscale, and then compare the old to the new before accepting the changes to save.
5. BATTERY
And for the last trick up its sleeve, the Honor 400 Pro packs in a whopping 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This means it features an ultra-slim design with an higher energy density.
The battery is built to last all day across your gaming, entertainment and social media tasks, without reaching for a power bank. It promises 1200 charge and discharge cycles, and a 4 year durability on the battery.
Honor is also known for its high-speed charging, which promises a 100W wired charge including a plug inside the box, and 50W wireless charging. Using the supplied cable and plug, it will reach 51% in 15 minutes.
