Honor’s AI Deepfake Detection first unveiled at IFA 2024 in Berlin will begin rolling out globally from April 2025.
The cutting edge feature was created to empower users fight against the growing threat of deepfakes with immediate warnings through real-time analysis of video and image content, explains Honor.

It added that the proliferation of sophisticated deepfakes highlights an urgent need for international cooperation and advanced technological solutions to combat misinformation.
Marco Kamiya, a UNIDO Representative in Jakarta shared similar sentiments when he addressed the rising number of AI-related fraud cases.
Kamiya emphasised the necessity for global collaboration, increased funding, and private sector involvement in employee training, alongside the establishment of industry standards to mitigate these risks.
While labeling AI-generated content is widely advocated, Honor believes that proactive detection measures and robust industry cooperation are paramount for comprehensive protection.
Its proactive steps include the use of its proprietary AI Deepfake Detection technology to leverage sophisticated algorithms that analyse subtle inconsistencies that often escape the human eye, it says.

Examples given by Honor include pixel-level synthetic imperfections, border compositing artifacts, inter-frame continuity, and inconsistencies in facial features such as face-to-ear hairstyle matching.
When manipulated content is detected, an immediate warning is issued, helping users identify and avoid deepfake risks, says Honor.
With the global rollout of this pioneering technology in April 2025, Honor says it reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding digital integrity and fostering a safer online environment.
