Festival of Motoring returns to Joburg

Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping ride at the Festival of Motoring, powered by WesBank. This epic event is back for its 8th year at the legendary Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, from August 29th to 31st, 2025.

Picture this: the roar of engines, the smell of rubber on the track, and the buzz of innovation all coming together. It’s going to be a showcase of the best in performance, design, and technology, with leading automotive brands, industry experts, and enthusiasts all in one place.

With over 100 exhibitors and 22 premier automotive brands, it’s going to be an immersive experience like no other. So, mark your calendars and come on down to Kyalami for a weekend of motorsport magic.

Kyalami will once again be transformed into a high-octane motoring playground. Spanning the Green and Yellow Zones, 60 pit doors will host some of the world’s most celebrated automotive brands, including:

Volkswagen (Passenger and Commercial), Toyota, Omoda, Jaecoo, Icaur, BYD, GAC, Suzuki, BAIC, GWM, Haval, Ora, Tank, Shelby, Subaru, Chery, MG, Mahindra, Isuzu, LDV, and TATA.

Experience in Motion

Festivalgoers can look forward to over 10,000 test drive opportunities, offering the public the chance to get behind the wheel and experience each vehicle’s performance firsthand.

Festival of Motoring is not just a showcase — it’s a full-throttle, hands-on experience. Visitors become participants in thrilling attractions such as:

• 4×4 Adventure Zone: 9 brands offering visitors off-road experiences.
• Takealot Self-Handling Track: test your control and handling skills – you choose your drive.
• Simola Hill Climb, BMW Race Car Series, and FoM Supercar Experience: offering hot laps and pulse-racing rides available for purchase on Howler.

On-track content includes the return of the crowd-favourite Shelby Time Challenge, and the Vilaca Racing Ultimate Car & Driver Challenge, a three-day time attack duel. Motorsport fans will also enjoy Formula One-style demonstration laps and two official rounds of the Sunbet ZX10 Masters Cup, showcasing South Africa’s top superbike talent.

Lifestyle, Leisure & Family Fun

While performance is at the heart of the Festival, its soul is about inclusivity. The event caters to first-timers, families, and die-hard fans alike. Highlights include:

• 100+ retail+ automotive lifestyle exhibitors
• Kids’ zones, gaming and simulator zones, and family activations
• A Karting arena for young and old
• A mini carnival with a Ferris Wheel

Santam joins in as a partner to the event offering the following:

1) Santam VIP Premium Suite on the Sarel van der Merwe rooftop — an exclusive hospitality experience with trackside views and curated luxury. Packages are available online on Howler.

2) The Santam Chill pod for families located at the yellow zone. The package includes a lunch package from Rocco Mammas and complimentary fun activities from Santam.

Seamless Access & Movement

Getting to the event is easy. Kenings Car Rental will operate complimentary shuttles from Mall of Africa (Gates 6 & 8) directly to Kyalami. On-site, Volkswagen, Isuzu, and GAC will provide internal shuttle services between pit areas, experience tracks, and the buzzing 4×4 village.
