Samsung’s new Galaxy flagship S Series was unveiled in San Jose, California last week and Recharged was in attendance. You can catch up on my Top 5 AI features TikTok here and an article for City Press here.
In this post, I will highlight the specs and how each device compares to each other, to help you decide which one is best for your needs.
All three flagship S24 series of devices run Android 14, OneUI 6.1 and major news is that all will receive seven years of Android operating system upgrades and security updates. If you hold onto your device for longer, this is excellent news, and honestly, difficult for other Android manufacturers to compete with.

Which is best for you:
Galaxy S24: For the everyday user who wants a premium Android to go about their daily lives. You want something solid, fast and with the latest features. Size is also a major factor here, it’s the smallest.
Galaxy S24 Plus: For the user who wants a bigger screen and larger battery with the latest features without paying a steep price. You don’t need stylus support, just a big phone to last all day.
Galaxy S24 Ultra: For the power user to get work done on the go, heavy duty editing, gaming and the need for using an S-Pen stylus for additional Note-like features. It has the most powerful chip yet and a price to match. Samsung calls the Ultra its most powerful device.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 range is currently open for pre-order and will be available in South Africa on 9 February.
