Under the FNB banking app settings, just head to the ‘nav-igate’ life tab under the Menu settings, to find these smart tools.

nav» Car

The nav» Car solution is extensive. It lets you view & pay fines, find car insurance, get fuel tips, access car maintenance services, a car value estimate and more.

Although my favourite being able to renew my car licence disc directly on the FNB app because it’s so convenient; you don’t have to drive anywhere or stand in a queue – there’s no paperwork. Currently, you can renew your licence disc with delivery and service fee from just R69, until 30 June 2024.

In addition to the disc renewal, you can get pre-selected for WesBank Vehicle Finance if you’re in the market for a car, view special offers and discounts from dealerships or access the car marketplace that lets you buy or sell a car, including cars on auction.

nav» Money

The nav» Money feature acts like your personal money coach with financial wellness tools and educational content. nav» CEO at FNB Jolandé Duvenage describes it as “a simple money management solution based on key financial principles. It is free, quick, and easy via the FNB app, with no paperwork.”

nav» Money will let you set smart budgets with alerts, track auto-categorised spend, view your credit status, set saving goals and get a snapshot of your net worth. You can also earn eBucks if you engage with some of the money tools, like setting at least 3 spend category budgets per month.

The money coach feature can help you:

  • Spend less than you earn
  • Manage your debt
  • Save for emergencies
  • Protect your family and income
  • Manage your assets
  • Provide for education and retirement

It is primarily intended to provide customers with an information portal where they can educate themselves on some of the money moves, they need to make for financial wellness, explains Duvenage. “The content is interactive, with educational tips, quizzes, podcast and infographics to assist you along the journey.”

nav» Home

If you’re looking to buy a house as an FNB customer, nav» Home is a great place to start. You can get an instant pre-approval for your home loan for qualifying customers to fast track the process of buying a home.

You can also list your existing property to sell it privately on the platform or use it to search for homes with an option of using an estate agent. The nav» Home solution also lets you calculate monthly repayments, know all other costs you may encounter, know the maximum loan you qualify for, and check what deposit you may need.

Another bonus for using nav» Home to buy a property is that you can get up to R6 100 back in eBucks based on 50% of your first monthly repayment. You also qualify for a 50% discount on bond registration attorney fees and get personalised interest rates.

nav» Energy

The nav» Energy applet on the FNB banking app will help you manage all things power related. It includes educational resources, energy solutions and financial solutions to help you get started.

The educational portal will explain the why and what of alternative energy, how to choose a solar provider and how to finance your solution. The energy solutions lets you shop on eBucks, shop on FNB Connect or find an alternative energy provider from your location.

And lastly, you can see what funds you have to make these purchases or what FNB offers on the personal loan and home loan front.
