eNCA: Electric Minibus Taxi

The electric taxi has been launched in South Africa and is set to hit the road as early as next year.

The 15-seater electric minibus, dubbed eKamva, is supported by a network of charging stations at taxi ranks to help the industry’s shift to electric mobility.

With the fuel price hitting historic highs, and commuters starting to feel the pinch of increasing transport fares, could this be a solution? Tech Journalist, Nafisa Akabor, spoke to eNCA.
